january 16, 2012 - agility
how quickly can I change plans, adapt to your rhythm, bend to the will, give up what is out of my control?
- what I learned
being willing to adjust is easier and more efficient than standing firm on ground that is shaking underneath my feet
november 2, 2011 - looking back
I look back at memories. was it really the way then that I remember now?
- what I learned
write, jot a note, record a moment, or compose a paragraph. facts can become fiction. later write the fiction and compare!
october 3, 2011 - thank you
she did something simple so I acknowledged it, to her, and to others.
- what I learned
a sincere thank you matters. use any opportunity to speak it, it's their contribution to our life.
september 19, 2011 - clean it up
we blew it, made a mistake, the wrong decision, gave the wrong answer.
- what I learned
no one cares why or how. we just need to own it, as soon as we know about it, and communicate with those touched by it.
september 12, 2011 - walk a mile
rather than complain, consider his circumstance.
- what I learned
and consider we can never really truly know it.
august 22, 2011 - compete to tie
the competition is out there. we struggle for the same audience, same dollars, we are all in it to WIN.
- what I learned
let's go meet them, befriend them, collaborate with them. let's help each other succeed. i've done it, you can too. good things happen when we cross the finish line together.
august 15, 2011 - tri anyway
with absolutely not enough training, should I? could I? (my 8th annual Danskin Sprint Triathlon)
- what I learned
announce you're going to do something. despite not being fully prepared, get in action, integrity in tact. (Danskin completed! 13 minutes slower than my PR)
